KARACHI: A woman, who arrived at a local beauty salon to get ready for her wedding function, went missing soon after she left for home, ARY News reported.

According to woman’s parents, the bride-to-be went to the beauty parlour with her sister in North Nazimabad area to get ready for one of her wedding functions, but, as her parents claim, she was allegedly kidnapped by her former fiancé. The girl is set to tie the knot on Sep 30.

Reports say that police were not filing a case, claiming that the girl didn’t go missing, instead she possibly left with her former fiancé on her own will.

Police said their initial probe revealed that the girl and the man were in contact before the former went missing from outside the beauty salon. The law enforcers also briefly interrogated the parlour administration, however no substantial clue could be found.

The investigation is underway and the girl would be found soon, the police added.

A girl from Karachi made international headlines in 2016 when she arrived in India’s Rajasthan to marry her fiancé of three years.

The girl, named Priya, was facing visa issues and the problem was brought to notice of Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and she subsequently solved the issue.

The groom had tweeted a request to Swaraj to intervene and arrange visas for 35 members, including the bride, of the Pakistani family to attend the wedding.
