Needing 199 to win, the visitors fell 18 runs short of the target as they put up 180/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Shoaib Malik scored 42 runs from 23 balls whereas Ben Hilfenhaus contributed 38 runs from 31 balls.

Michael Hill scored 26 runs from 19 deliveries whereas Cameron Boyce made 24 runs from nine balls.

Mark Steketee and Daniel Christian took two wickets each for the host side while James Hopes, Stephen Parry and Ben Cutting took one wicket each.

The win gives Brisbane Heat two points in the table.
