Sources said that a Multan bound bus crashed into a train engine while it was passing through a railway crossing south of Tehsil Karor Lal Essan.
Railways administration stated that the incident took place when the bus driver tried to cross his vehicle despite the gate of the crossing was closed. The bus rammed into the train engine which kept the vehicle dragging for several feet.
Police and Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene after the incident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Five of the wounded are said to be in critical condition.
