Cabinet briefed about salient features of National Security Policy

ISLAMABAD: A detailed briefing on the National Security Policy (NSP) was given in the meeting of the Federal Cabinet earlier today – ARY News reports.

According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting of the Federal Cabinet earlier today, in which salient features of the National Security Policy were elaborated.

Sources told that the policy will be consisting of 3 parts, first part will be kept secret, second strategic and the third part would be operational.

Under the strategic portion, it will be decided that either the terrorism is to be dealt through talks or an action. Policy draft states that dialogue will be held with Taliban factions willing for it, whilst foreign Taliban will be identified and their countries of origin will be coordinated.

Moreover, an operation will be lodged against outlaws not tilting towards talks.

Third part of the policy draft deals with the operational preparation to cope with terrorism and to execute this part National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) will be mobilized.

Other than this, causes of terrorism will be determined and the capacities of different security agencies will be increased in order to strengthen coordination among them.
