LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has directed the cabinet committee to review the steps taken for maintaining law and order in the province twice a week, whereas he also directed to beef-up security at prisons and to install jammers there – ARY News reports.
According to details, CM Shahbaz Sharif chaired the meeting of the provincial cabinet here on Tuesday. During the meeting, IG Punjab Police and the Home Secretary gave a detailed briefing to the cabinet members on the law and order of Punjab.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister told that the Punjab Government holds the protection of public life and property as its top priority and for this purpose it has provided all the resources to the police.
He urged the cabinet ministers to get the recruitment in Anti-Terrorism Force done transparently, whereas the postings in Anti-Terrorism Department were declared as field-postings.
Shahbaz also directed the authorities to strictly monitor the ins and outs of the province and cabinet committee to supervise the security arrangements directly.
Relating to the security of prisons all over Punjab, the Chief Minister urged for early installation of jammers to insure fool-proof security of jails.
Moreover, the meeting was attended by the Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Colonel (R) Shuja Khanzada and other higher-ups.
