KARACHI: Chairman of Cable Operators Association Khalid Arain denounced the stance of giving right to PEMRA of tax collection from cable operators, ARY News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Khalid Arain has asked the authorities to stop the issuance of notices from PEMRA. He said that putting extra burden with the name of advance tax on cable operators is unjust.
Khalid Arain said that PEMRA is a regulatory institute, it’s not their duty to collect tax and assigning the task of tax collection them is legal.
He requested the government to take notice of the issue and to withdraw the decision. He warned for countrywide protest if the decision wouldn't reviewed.
The Chairman said that ill legal sale of DTH (Direct-To-Home) has badly hurting the economy.
