PESHAWAR: A young journalism graduate from the Peshawar University on Wednesday flatly refused to take his degree from Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, saying he cannot accept his degree from a ‘corrupt’ leader of a corrupt democratic system.

Jhagra, also a member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was giving away degrees to the students when Syed Nabi Shah declined to take his degree on his turn and left the convocation hall nonchalantly.

As soon as the student went outside the hall, he was taken into custody for misbehaving with the governor KP.

However, Jhagra immediately intervened and ordered to release Shah and said, “Everyone has a right to express any opinion. There was nothing wrong in what he said or did today.”
