SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly on Sunday said the names of nominees for the slot of caretaker prime minister for the upcoming general elections would come out by May 15.

Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Allama Iqbal University in Aror (popularly known as Rohri), he said the name of caretaker prime minister will hopefully be finalized in May.

Talking about Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar, Shah said the former is currently disconcerted as his party doesn’t accept him into the party fold.

Referring to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s remarks that the aliens would conduct the upcoming general elections, he said even politicians acknowledged that aliens exit.

Highlighting the importance of education, the opposition leader said that the world is incomplete without education, which enables the human being to tell apart what is good and bad.

Earlier, PM Abbasi had said that the government will agree on any name proposed by the opposition for caretaker prime minister.

He said this while speaking to journalists after a farewell dinner hosted by Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for members of the assembly nearing the end of its tenure.

The premier said that the government and opposition should reach consensus over a caretaker setup to avoid any disagreement thereof so that the matter does not go to the Election Commission of Pakistan  (ECP) to install the caretaker government.
