KARACHI: A female officer of the Pakistan International Airlines has been booked for ‘absuing’ personnel of the Airport Security Force (ASF) and slapping three of them when she was stopped at the domestic lounge of Karachi airport, officials said on Friday.

The female officer was reportedly stopped by ASF personnel at the airport lounge because of her expired entry pass, but the women got affronted and instead launched an assault on the ASF officers.

However, the woman claimed that the ASF personnel “humiliated and harassed” her and she only reacted to the “assault” by the ASF’s male staff when no one intervened.

“PIA officer Ruqayya Brohi deputed at its human resource department, has been booked under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the ASF’s Assistant Sub-Inspector Waheed Anjum,” according to a report filed at Airport police station.
