CEC refuses Imran Khan’s meeting request

Imran Khan had sought a meeting with the CEC to brief him personally about alleged irregularities and rigging in recent by-election in NA-122 in Lahore.

According to sources,CEC Sardar Raza Mohammad Khan has declined to meet citing his busy schedule and asked the party to submit their complaints about the election in a memorandum.

Election Commission sources said that the CEC refused the meeting request due to his busy schedule with regard to local councils elections.

PTI sources said the party will consider submitting the memorandum after consultations.

PTI had alleged irregularities in NA-122 by-election after PML-N’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had retained his Lahore seat in a close contest by defeating rival Abdul Aleem Khan.
