FAISALABAD: A minor was killed and the bridegroom’s father was injured due to celebratory firing at a wedding reception in Faisalabad, ARY News reported on Monday.
The incident took place in Pakadala area of Faisalabad.
The people at a wedding party carried out firing to celebrate the event but the celebrations turned into a tragedy as a nine-year old boy Nadeem and Sanaullah, the father of bridegroom Ikram, sustained bullet injuries.
The injured persons were rushed to a hospital for medical attendance where the child succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the bridegroom’s father is said to be critical.
Police has filed case against four accused including bridegroom Ikram, his brother Mujahid along with prime suspect Abbas and took them into in custody.
Celebratory fire is a norm in Pakistani wedding parties to celebrate the event, however, the stray bullets from firing claim lives and injure people, turning the joyous occasion into a tragedy.
