CT 2017 Winners: Pakistan cricket team congratulated, showered with praise

Pakistan thrashed India by 180 runs to win the Champions Trophy 2017 at The Oval. The cricket team was congratulated and showered with praise by political, sports and entertainment personalities.

Army Chief General Qammar Javed Bajwa congratulated the team and announced Umrah for the entire cricket team. “Nothing beats ‘Team Work’, Pakistan is a team against every threat,”  the COAS was quoted saying by the Inter Services Public Relations.

“Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat congratulated the team and the nation on historic victory. Air and Naval Chiefs also congratulated the team and the nation,” said the ISPR.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah also congratulated Pakistan cricket team  and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed on historic win against India.

He lauded the outstanding performance of young player Fakhar Zaman who is an ex-sailor of Pakistan Navy and was part of the Pakistan Navy cricket team for seven years.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who watched the match at his office in a Pakistan team jersey, also congratulated on winning the Champions Trophy. “The nation is proud of their cricket team,” the premier was quoted by the Pakistan Muslim League.

PM Sharif delivered a message from Saudi Arabia to congratulate the cricket. ” Pakistan cricket team. Well Played, Well done,” he said in a brief message.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan also congratulated the cricket team for winning CT 2017. He prayed the team always achieves such success.

“Pakistan have defeated India to become hampions. Now the whole nation awaits the defeat of the corrupt mafia.” he asserted in another tweet.
