Talking to media here, Chandio said alleging someone is not a big deal, what matters is to provide evidences to substantiate the allegation. He said if someone has evidences of corruption against Memon, then he should bring forth those proofs.

He bemoaned that when others are alleged of any wrongdoing they are just questioned, but in case of people affiliated with PPP action is taken right away.

The provincial advisor said there is no doubt that Sharjeel Memon is out of country, then why was his name put on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Commenting on operation in Karachi, he said that the Karachi operation has not slowed down; in fact the law enforcers are conducting several raids a day.

“PPP-led Sindh government never opposed operation against terrorists and criminals in Karachi,” he maintained. “There occurred some differences but we did not hinder the course of action, for we had full confidence in Rangers and police.”

Maula Bux Chandio said the operation in Karachi is underway and it will continue to its logical end.

A few months back, some media reports suggested that the law enforcers during a raid at former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon’s house recovered cash worth billions of rupees.

The former minister is reportedly in UAE for past some months, while the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken up an inquiry against him.

Amid these developments, Memon’s name was also put on the Exit Control List (ECL).
