QUETTA: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal accentuated that the process of accountability carried out by the anti-graft watchdog doesn’t entail any kind of vengeance of biasness.

Chairman NAB was addressing a ceremony in the office of NAB Quetta where he stated that the institution of NAB will pursue its due objective to root out corruption in every way.

Justice (retd) Javed brushed aside the impression that bureau takes action against particular individuals or political parties and said “From top ranks to every level and designation, all individuals will be hold accountable indiscriminately,” he stressed.

The head of the bureau specifically clarified “We will not take any step which will affect general elections or present the bureau’s image as a partial entity.”

He further noted that corruption is responsible for country’s downfall.

“Inquiry against one of the former chief ministers is underway, whereas, two more will be probed after July 25 polls,” the chairman disclosed. NAB is determined to bring back all the looted money to Pakistan with transparent conduct of accountability and it has vowed not to spare anyone who had not been answerable for their corruption in the past, he added.

The ceremony was organized to hand over properties, recovered in a corruption case by NAB, to the government of Balochistan.
