Chaudhry Latif Akbar presents AJK budget of Rs.62bn

MUZAFFARABAD: Finance Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Latif Akbar presented the Annual budget having the outlay of around 62 billion for the next financial year in the AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad on Friday, ARY News reported.

Presenting the budget the AJK Finance Minister said that government employees will get 10 per cent increase in the salaries and pension on the pattern of Federal Government.

In the AJK budget for the next fiscal year Rs.10.5 billion have been allocated for the development sectors to complete various ongoing and new projects for welfare of the masses while Rs.51.5 billion for the non-development sector with the increase of Rs.4.5 billion as compare to previous year.

The budget deficit for the year is expected to be Rs. 10 billion.

Rs. 83 million have been allocated for education sector, Rs. 320 million for health while Rs. 230 million for agriculture.

Chaudhry Latif Akbar said that in addition to laptop scheme for youth, a green cap scheme will also be introduced.
