Chehlum processions being taken out across the country
KARACHI: The Chehlum of Imam Hussain (R.A) being marked on Tuesday (today) amid countrywide security high alert, ARY News reported.
The participants of the central mourning procession in Karachi offered Zohrain prayers at M.A. Jinnah Road in Karachi. Earlier, a big explosion rocked the area near Capri Cinema on the route of the central mourning procession but no losses reported in the blast.
The bomb exploded at the place where the mourners had to offer Zohrain prayers.
Three other blasts were occurred in Orangi and Qasba More, in which a man was killed and 12 others were injured.
Chehlum processions taken out in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta and other cities and towns across Pakistan under stringent security measures.
The military has also been on high alert to assist the civil administration in case of any untoward incident.
In Karachi 10,000 security men have been deployed for security of the central mourning procession.
Cellular services in several cities including Karachi, Quetta, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Khairpur have been suspended. Pillion riding has also been prohibited for a day across Sindh province, in Lahore and other parts of the country.
