Pakistan Armed Forces’ chiefs mark Defence Day with special messages

KARACHI: As the nation is commemorating the sacrifices of 1965 war’s heroes on Wednesday (today) with a renewed pledge to defend the motherland against all threats, the chiefs of Pakistan Armed Forces shared special messages on the occasion of Defence Day, ARY News reported.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Pakistan’s National Defence day has warned enemies of the country with a message that: “Our resolve shall never be weakened, [however] they shall fall short of ammunition.”

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman echoed similar sentiments on the occasion and vowed that the nation would combat challenges with strong determination and unity.

“Heroes of 1965 war have set an exemplary precedent for upcoming generations in defence of the country.”

Paying homage to martyrs of 1965 war, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah said Pakistan is now progressing on every front with a fierce determination emphasizing that there is still a need to stay vigilant to confront all regional challenges.

An event will be held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi today to pay tributes to the martyrs of 1965 war. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa will address the ceremony, due to be held at 8pm (later today).
