KARACHI: Police has detained the owner and two employees of a hospital in Korangi, where four children lost their lives due to a lack of oxygen in incubators and ventilators, ARY News reported on Saturday.

The police moved into action after deaths of four children in a private hospital in Korangi 2 1/2 area of Karachi. Two staff members and the owner of the hospital have been detained so far.

Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh have taken notice of the incident and constituted a committee headed by the Commissioner for inquiry of the incident. The committee in its report said that the suspension of the oxygen supply and fault in incubators caused deaths of the children.

Earlier in the week, two children lost their lives at the privately-run children hospital.
Parents claim doctors were not present at the hospital while staff treated the minors in question.

Family members of the deceased children protested outside the hospital against the incident. They said that the children were not treated timely and negligence of the hospital doctors resulted in deaths of the children.

Earlier, angry relatives stormed the hospital, ransacked medical equipment and blocked roads with burning tyres and boulders.
