BOAO: A Chinese consortium will build two power plants of 660 megawatt each in Sahiwal, ARY News reported on Friday.

A delegation of Chinese investors called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and lauded his government's investment friendly policies.

Pakistan's prime minister, is in China to attend the Boao Forum for Asia 2014.

A consortium of Chinese companies has agreed to invest in Pakistan's energy sector and build two power plants in Sahiwal with aggregate power generation of 1320 megawatts.

Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the investment offer and said that the timely completion of these power projects will promote the national economy. He said the Chinese investment will help rapid growth of the economy.

Sharif also highlighted the investment opportunities in Pakistan's energy and infrastructure sector.
