China Silk Road Group offers affordable solution for PM’s low cost housing

ISLAMABAD: China Silk Road Group Ltd on Monday expressed keen interest in the prime minister’s low cost housing project, ARY News reported.

Chairman of China Silk Road Group Ltd Yan Lijin said this in a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.

Yan Lijin offered his company’s affordable solution for construction of low cost housing by setting up plant for pre-fabricated housing structures in Pakistan.

The prime minister welcomed the interest of China Silk Company in the housing project.

PM Imran Khan also emphasised to further broaden Pak-China cooperation under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project and translate all-weather and time-tested Pak-China friendly relations into mutually beneficial economic equation.

He highlighted the government’s various initiatives to improve Ease of Doing Business and providing the foreign investors an enabling environment to undertake profitable business ventures in the country.

On April 9, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said that the federal cabinet approved established of ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Authority’, taking a step forward to fulfil the promise for construction of low-cost houses.

Fawad Chaudhry, while addressing a media briefing after the federal cabinet meeting, had said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the housing project by laying its foundation stone in Islamabad on April 17.

He had detailed that 135,000 houses will be constructed this year during the first phase of the PM’s housing project, whereas, 110,000 homes will be built in Balochistan.
