Chinese company to build power plants at Gadani
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water & Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Tuesday that government is taking every possible measure to overcome the load shedding issue, ARY News reported.
In this regard Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB) and Chinese company Gehzuoba has signed an agreement for the setting up of four 660 MW coal-fired power plants at Gaddani with an investment of $3.5 billion.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that Chinese Company will work on several coal-based power projects that will provide Pakistan 2640 Mega Watt of electricity.
According to sources Chinese investments will provide a boost to the economy of Pakistan as China is willing to invest $35 billion in various infrastructure projects within 3 to 5 years.
The Minister further informed there are several foreign companies that are willing to invest for Gaddani Power Park.
