CIA Police prevents smuggling of huge arms cache
LAHORE: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Police of Lahore Cantt circle foiled a bid to smuggle huge cache of illegal arms on Saturday and apprehended two accused involved – ARY News reports.
The DSP of CIA Lahore Cantt, Umer Farooq told media that police party acting upon an intelligence tip, blocked road near Saghian Bridge and intercepted a twin-cab. During the search, 12 latest rifles, 29 pistols and thousands of rounds were recovered from secret shelves of the vehicle.
He told that CIA personnel also arrested two accused namely, Noor Muhammad Khan and Misl Hussain, who belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and wanted to sale illegal weapons in Lahore.
Umer Farooq told media that these arms were to be sold to criminal elements in the city and could be used for worsening the law and order situation.
The accused were shifted to the police station and an investigation is underway.
