According to details, the demonstration was staged following a recent statement of Maulana Abdul Aziz in which he had declined to condemn the barbaric killing of over hundred children and staffers of a military-run school in Peshawar, at the hands of Pakistani Taliban.

The statement was made during a live TV show.

Entire civil society seemed to be enraged at the statement and strongly protested against Maulana Abdul Aziz. During the episode, some protesters tried to storm the Laal Masjid, however they failed as the gates were already closed.

A furious exchange of words also took place between the members of the civil society and the administration of Laal Masjid, however the police timely intervened to avoid any untoward incident.

Protesters were carrying banners and placards showing slogans denouncing the cowardly attack in Peshawar.

On this occasion, speakers also addressed the participants and delivered fiery speeches against the terrorism.

The civil society also announced that the demonstration will be staged outside the Laal Masjid on daily basis, until Maulana Abdul Aziz does not apologize for his statement which hurt the sentiments of millions of people across country at a time when the nation was already suffering from a deep shock caused by the Peshawar massacre.
