CJ Jillani leaves for Canada on weeklong visit

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassadduq Hussain Jillani has left for a weeklong visit to Canada where he will attend several functions and programs, ARY News reports on Friday.

CJP Tassadduq Hussain Jillani, while on the state visit, will attend different programs in the United States and Canada.

Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is already present in the United States and a meeting between the former and present CJPs is expected as well, sources said.

Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk will be serving as the acting Chief Justice and Election Commissioner during Jillani's absence in Pakistan. He is the second judge in history to serve in two positions at once.

Earlier, Justice Shakirullah Jan was serving in two offices as well.
