ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Judicial Commission headed by the Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani was held here on Wednesday, for making appointments on the vacant posts in the Supreme Court (SC) and high courts – ARY News reports.
The meeting was attended by the senior judges of the SC and related high courts, Attorney General, Minister of Law and representatives of the bar associations. Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Justice Umer Ata Bandiyal was recommended to be appointed as an SC judge.
Members of commission also recommended senior session judge, Khwaja Imtiaz to be made the LHC judge, whereas for the additional judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Athar Minallah Advocate was recommended.
Moreover, consideration of different names for the appointments on rest of the vacant posts in Islamabad and Balochistan High Court, was put off for later.
