CJ SHC takes suo moto notice of missing reporter Faizullah Khan

KARACHI: Chief Justice (CJ) of the Sindh High Court (SHC) has taken suo moto notice of disappearance of ARY News reporter, Faizullah Khan and issued notices to the Federal Government, Deputy Attorney General, Advocate General Sindh and other concerned officials – ARY News reports.

Sania Faiz, wife of Faizullah Khan, filed a petition in the SHC earlier today, in which she stated that Faizullah had gone to the tribal areas in line of his duties as a journalist, where either unintentionally he entered into the Afghan territory or was he trapped, after which he is under the custody of Afghan intelligence officials.

The petition appealed the court to order the Government of Pakistan for making efforts for the release of Faizullah Khan.

The Chief Justice SHC while taking suo moto notice on the petition, transformed it into a constitutional petition and issued notices to the Federal Government, Deputy Attorney General, Advocate General Sindh and other concerned officials.

Faizullah Khan went missing almost a month ago, while fulfilling his professional responsibilities in the north-western tribal areas of Pakistan.
