CJ Tassaduq takes suo-moto notice of Full Court Reference footage

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice (CJ), Tassaduq Hussain Jeelani soon after taking charge of his duties, has taken suo-motu notice of the leakage of full court reference footage on Thursday. AdditionalRegistrar, Muhammad Ali has been appointed as the inquiry officer – ARY News reports.

 

According to details, a delegation of journalists met the new Chief Justice earlier today upon his arrival at the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan after taking the oath.

 

The delegation informed the CJ that they were restricted from the coverage of the full court reference, while a private TV channel was provided the footage of the reference. The journalists demanded the CJ to take notice of the incident, at which the CJ insured the delegates to take notice of the event.

 

The President SC Bar, Kamran Murtaza said that if the coverage was not allowed, then none of the channels would have been permitted for that.

 

After meeting the journalists, CJ Tassaduq Hussain Jeelani took notice of the leakage of footage of the full court reference given in honor of the outgoing CJ IftikharMuhammad Chaudhry.
