CM, corps commander discuss NAP implementation in Sindh

KARACHI: Corps Commander Karachi, Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar on Tuesday called on Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and exchanged views with him on overall security situation across Sindh particularly in Karachi and implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP), ARY News reported.

Targeted raids against terrorists and criminals and decisions of the Sindh Apex Committee also came under discussion on the occasion.

The meeting, held at CM House here, reviewed implementation of apex committee decisions of formation of more anti-terrorism courts (ATCs), ensuring effective investigation and follow up of high-profile cases in an adequate manner.

CM Shah told that he has directed the new IG Police A.D. Khawaja to strengthen the investigation system so that the prosecution could be fortified. He said that the Sindh government has also issued directives with regard to other decisions of apex committee and it wishes NAP implementation in the province in its true spirit.

Shah further said that police are being equipped with modern arms and gadgets in order to enhance their capacity and mobility.
