CM KP writes to PM Nawaz for handing over all provincial power departments

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pervez Khattak has written a letter to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanding him to handover not just PESCO, but all the electricity departments in the province – ARY News reports.

According to details, Pervez Khattak presented his 11-point suggestions regarding the handing over of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to KP Government, saying that all the electricity departments should be given under the provincial government for controlling the power distribution, preventing theft and increasing recovery.

It was stated in the letter that KP generates excessive power at cheaper cost, but despite of that the people here are suffering from power shortfall.

He demanded the PM for giving the control of generation, distribution and transmission of electricity to KP Government and also to insure the provision of due payments to the province by the Federation or its institutions.
