GADAP: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday underscored the need for conducting the sixth population and housing census in a transparent and efficient manner.

Addressing media after meeting party workers, the chief minister called on all residents across the province to take part in the census and provide complete and accurate information about their families.

He said that the federal government should develop a mechanism to make sure that information collected is compiled on a daily basis and made accessible to the general public.

He suggested that the data collected should be made available on the website of the statistics division, and the district census officer should be instructed to provide data to upload on the website.

CM Murad said the census is a massive task which requires concerted efforts and resources and it is necessary to ensure every individual is added as future planning depends on it.

He said that it is necessary to ensure that each and every citizen is counted and the figures are not exaggerated, which will also restore confidence in the census.

He also recommended to establish a mechanism to allow the general public to lodge complaints before the census was completed.
