COAS calls Afghan president, meets US envoy Olson

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Army Chief strongly condemned terrorists’ attack on American University in Kabul yesterday and expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families.”

The army chief stated that Pakistani soil would not be allowed to be used for any type of terrorism in the neighbouring country.

United States Special Representative of Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Olson and Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan General John Nicholson and other dignitaries met COAS General Raheel Sharif on Thursday.

ISPR stated that regional security issues and matters of mutual interest including border management mechanism along Pak-Afghanistan border were discussed in the meeting.

“The visiting dignitaries appreciated the resolve and continuing efforts towards fighting terrorism and regional stability,” ISPR statement said.
