Army Chief condoles with martyred soldier’s family in Lahore

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday visited the bereaved family of Lieutenant Colonel Amer Wahid shaheed in Lahore to offer his condolences, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The lieutenant colonel embraced martyrdom in a terrorist attack on September 4 near Panjgur area of Balochistan province.

After offering Fateha for the martyred Army officer, General Bajwa said that the supreme sacrifices rendered by Pakistani soldiers shall never go waste.

“Our fight against terrorism shall continue till the achievement of enduring peace and stability,” he reiterated.

On September 4, three Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were martyred while three others sustained bullet injuries when unidentified armed assailants opened fire on their convoy in Balochistan’s Pangjur district.

Security officials then informed media that a colonel was among three FC personnel martyred in the incident.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi strongly condemned the attack and the loss of the lives of the security personnel in the incident, and directed for providing excellent health facilities to the injured.

Moreover, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also condemned the incident and said that anti-state forces fear the effects of CPEC. Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident.
