COAS, Gen Nicholson discuss Afghan reconciliation process
The two military commanders discussed matters of mutual interest and regional security with particular emphasis on coordination along Pak-Afghan border and reconciliation process in Afghanistan, said the ISPR in its statement.
General John Nicholson, Commander Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces Afghanistan called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif today at General Headquarters, on his maiden visit.During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and regional security with particular emphasis on coordination along Pak – Afghan border and reconciliation process in Afghanistan were discussed.The newly appointed Commander Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces – Afghanistan also appreciated successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb and efforts of Pakistan for regional security.

The newly appointed commander of the Resolute Support Mission and US Forces in Afghanistan also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional security and successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Earlier on arrival at the GHQ, Gen Nicholson was presented guard of honor by a smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Army, followed by laying of a floral wreath by the visiting dignitary on the martyrs’ monument.
