RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif has departed on a three-day official visit to China, while Russia has decided to lift the ban on providing weapons and defense equipment to Pakistan – ARY News reports.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif will hold meetings with Chinese political and military leadership, and talks will be held on extending bilateral defense and security cooperation, between both the states.
On the other hand, Russia has decided to lift the ban on providing arms and other defense equipment to Pakistan.
The Russian media claimed that talks are underway regarding the provision of several gunship helicopters to Pakistan. It was further said that Pakistan is expected to receive MI-35 helicopters from Russia.
