COAS Bajwa inaugurates new blocks at CMH Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa here on Tuesday inaugurated the new blocks at Combined Military Hospital Rawalpindi, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said, “After completion of construction, CMH has become 1000-bed hospital with capacity of 1150 beds.”

With enhanced capacity and high-tech equipment as many as 5,000 patients would be treated daily at the OPD, ISPR said and added that the hospital would cater for medical needs of military as well as civilian personnel.

ISPR further said, “It is worth mentioning here that now CMH has become one of the state of the art hospitals which shall act as a base hospital not only for Army but for Air Force and Navy as well.”

The project was commenced in 2013.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on March 27, had fulfilled the desire of two sisters suffering from cancer to become soldiers.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), two sisters namely, Javeria, 13 and Ruba,15, who were battling with the lethal disease cancer, had shown a desire to become a soldier and had pleaded the COAS General Bajwa for becoming a soldier.
