COAS lauds commitment of Pakistani troops on UN missions

According to the ISPR, Gen Sharif paid rich tributes to Pak Army officers and troops for their professionalism, commitment to bring stability and promoting peace for a secure world under the UN.

He acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistani troops in Peace Keeping Operations (PKOs) saying, “Pakistan is committed to meet emerging challenges of PKO and it continues to uphold UN and Pak flag fluttering high.”

Pakistan is proud of its historic, current role as major troop contributor and takes it as an obligation to participate in international peace and security, said the army chief.

“Being leading troop contributor, Pakistan currently has its troops deployed on six UN missions, despite ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and other intelligence-based operations (IBOs),” said the COAS. “Our troops are proving their mettle in PKOs as well.”‘

Meanwhile, Ivory Coast president paid rich tributes to the excellent performance of Pakistani troops.
