RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif has departed on a 2-day official visit to Turkey, where he will attend the tripartite summit between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkey – ARY News reports.
According to the Spokesperson of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif will meet the Turkish Chief of General Staff and the Commander Land Forces, during his visit.
He will also exchange views with Turkish military officials regarding Pak-Turkey defence and military cooperation.
Earlier today, PM Nawaz Sharif had left for a 3-day tour to participate in the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Turkey trilateral conference.
He will attend a trilateral summit along with the Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Discussions will be held on the Afghan presidential elections and the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan. The three leaders will review the economic relations between the countries.
