ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday met the Afghan ambassador and discussed matters of mutual interest, ARY News reported Wednesday.
The meeting between the COAS and Afghan envoy Janan Mosazai took place at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi. According to ISPR, both the dignitaries discussed military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan against local and foreign militants.
They also exchanged views on improving security affairs at Pak-Afghan border. Sources told that COAS Sharif made it clear on Afghan ambassador that Afghan National Army and their border police must adopt measures around North Waziristan areas so that militants fleeing the territory may not escape.
