LAHORE: The election commission on Friday announced code of conduct for local bodies elections in Punjab scheduled to be held on January 30, 2014.
According to ARY News, the election code prohibits announcement of development projects during the election campaign. The Prime Minister, Chief Minister, speaker and deputy speaker of Punjab Assembly and federal and provincial ministers could not visit the constituencies during the polls.
Under the code of conduct the candidates for mayor and deputy mayor's offices for metropolitan and municipal corporations could not spend more than Rs two lac.
The nomination papers to election candidates will be issued from December 22 to 27.
