KARACHI: Chilly weather conditions are likely to persist in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The weather department says currently continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, intensifying the ongoing cold spell.
Very cold weather is expected in Balochistan and northern parts of the country, besides dense foggy conditions over plains of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours, the weather forecasting department said.
It said the minimum temperature in Karachi will remain 11 degree Celsius and maximum 24°C during the next 24 hours.
People around the country have put on warm clothes to fight chilly weather conditions.
In the past 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara divisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The minimum temperature in Pakistan was recorded -08°C in Quetta, Kalat, Kalam, followed by -06°C in Malamjabba, -05°C in Parachinar and Gupis, and -04°C in Astore.
