Completion of ten years of democracy good omen for country: Marriyum
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said completion of ten years of democracy in the country was a good omen.
“The democracy strengthens the system of the country and its continuity is very essential in this regard,” she said while addressing at a roundtable meeting on strengthening skills titled ‘A National Investment for Tackling Youth Unemployment’ in Islamabad.
She said our youth was our big asset but if it would not be used then this asset will become a liability.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said the government had made lot of contributions towards empowerment of the youth.
Earlier, speaking at a ceremony in the context of World Thalassemia Day, she said that Thalassemia was a preventable disease that demanded changing the behavior and attitude.
She emphasized the need for creating proper awareness in term of Thalassemia. She said awareness programs would be started on Radio Pakistan and PTV to inform the public about Thalassemia.
She also urged the private media to play its due role for creating proper awareness regarding Thalassemia through launching different programs in this effect.
