Computer, data entry operators to be promoted to grade-16 in Sindh

KARACHI: Computer and data entry operators in Sindh education department will be promoted to grade-16, said sources.

According to a summery forwarded to the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the education department has recommended to promote some 611 computer and data entry operators to grade-16.

The computer and data entry operators are currently serving in grade-12. A notification will be issued in this regard after the approval of the chief minister.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Sindh government will have to bear the extra burden of Rs12.8mn per year. The 611 employs were currently paid Rs87mn per year as salary.

Earlier, the high-powered promotion board meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved promotions of above 20 bureaucrats, purely on merit, from grade-21 to grade 22 on November 19.

According to the details, the high-powered board approved promotions of six officers from DMG group, two from police group, one from information group and 11 from foreign serves and others groups.
