ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Sunday instructed the concerned authorities to provide a construction plan of Rawalpindi’s Mother and Child Hospital in 15 days and finish its construction work in 18 months.
A two-judge bench headed by the chief justice heard the case related to the hospital, officials of the PWD, Nespak and other relevant departments.
The top judge, disappointed with the delay of 10 years in hospital’s construction, vowed that further delay will not be tolerated in this regard.
The apex court will supervise the construction work from now and there will be no interruption in releasing of funds this time around, CJP assured.
During the hearing, the officials of the related authorities sought two years to complete the project and mentioned a total cost of over Rs5.3 billion. Nevertheless, chief justice Nisar granted the period of 18 months to complete the project and demanded a daily progress report on the matter.
