Contempt petition filed against Sethi at SC

TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: A contempt of court petition was filed against Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi at the Supreme Court today, ARY News reported Tuesday.

Member of PCB’s scrutiny committee Arbab Altaf filed the contempt of court petition against Mr. Sethi.

Altaf argued before the court said Najam Sethi concealed facts in the court and a notification of appointment of Zaka Ashraf was not presented in the court as well.

He said he wanted to produce all these documents before the court.

The court asked him to furnish all these details.

In February 2014, the government — Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif being PCB's patron — installed an 11-member committee headed by Sethi to run the board temporarily. However, the legal battle in court between Sethi and ex-PCB chief Zaka Ashraf affected the PCB affairs, in what was termed as a musical chairs game when one PCB chief was sacked by court, only to be reinstated by another court days later.
