Corps Commander Conference reviews security situation

RAWALPINDI: The Corps Commander Conference presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday reviewed overall security situation of the country, ARY News reported.

The COAS was briefed on overall law and situation and ongoing military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan. The meeting agreed that terrorists would not allowed to regroup and return to the territories of Pakistan.

General Sharif expressed satisfaction on army’s progress in the operation Zarb-e-Azb. He paid tribute to the sacrifices rendered by army personnel in the line of duty.

The COAS asked the officers to strengthen position of forces in the tribal areas and speed up development works in the affected areas.

He also praised the cooperation of tribal people in fight against militants.
