Count of IDPs reach to 1 million

BANNU: Huge number of people belonging to minorities has migrated from North Waziristan due to ongoing military operation Zar-e-Azb as the count of IDPs reached to one million, ARY News reported.

In-charge complain cell Zenatullh Shah informed that around 9,96,369 victims had reached Alizai point till date out of which registration of 91,416 families has been made up till now.

Pakistan Army making every possible effort to look after Internally Displaced Persons, he added.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and SAFRON have demanded government to give 1.5 month additional holidays of school located in Bannu, Lucky Marwat and D.I. Khan.

Officials of SAFRON said that the return of IDPs to North Waziristan may take the period of six months.

Officials of Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat said any negligence in looking after of IDP might turn Bannu’s situation like of North Waziristan.

Meanwhile, FATA Disaster Management Authority and a mobile company have made SIMs activation of 62,331 families.
