KARACHI: The government has stepped up countrywide security ahead of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), ARY News reported on Monday.
The government authorities have decided to deploy 7000 security men in Rawalpindi amid fears of untoward incidents in the garrison city adjacent to federal capital Islamabad.
It is recalled that several persons had lost their lives and properties worth billions of rupees were burnt in riots during Muharram 10 processions in Rawalpindi.
The government of southwestern Pakitani province of Balochistan has decided to deploy 5000 policemen in Quetta to ensure law and order in the provincial capital on Chehlum of the Martyrs of Karbala.
Moreover, army troops being deployed in sensitive cities and towns of Sindh from Pannu Akil cantonment on Chehlum.
The military troops being deployed at sensitive points of the port city of Karachi from today to ensure security of the Chehlum processions tomorrow.
