Court disposes of FBI agent case

KARACHI: A district and sessions’ court Malir has disposed of a case of FBI agent who arrested from Karachi couple of weeks ago for carrying illegal weapons, ARY News reported.

A letter of US Embassy was presented in a court, stating that people associated with a mission were authorised to carry weapons. The interior ministry confirmed the letter being received from US Embassy. The court disposed of the matter after confirmation from the interior ministry.

The FBI agent Joel Cox was arrested from Karachi airport by Airport Security Force (ASF) officials after 15 rounds of 9mm pistol, three daggers and other spying gadgets were recovered from his luggage.

Police had presented him before the Judicial Magistrate Malir, Adam Singhar and requested the court for granting time to interrogate the accused.

 At this, the court had handed over Cox to police on a four-day remand.
