LAHORE: An accountability court of Lahore has extended the physical remand of senior bureaucrat Fawad Hasan Fawad for 14 days on the request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday.
The Bureau apprised the court that during the previous remand of the accused, important information was obtained, and requested the court to extend hi remand for carrying out further questioning.
The court extended the NAB’s custody of the accused for another 14 days following the expiry of the earlier remand period.
A board will be set up for medical examination of Fawad Hasan Fawad as per the directives of the accountability court.
Top civil servant was arrested by the anti-graft body on July 5 over various corruption charges including the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme case.

Three corruption cases against former premier Nawaz Sharif’s principal secretary include Ashiana Housing Scheme, illegal employment in a private bank and unlawful transfer of nine CNG stations.
Fawad has served as the principal secretary of two former prime ministers, Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi during the recent PML-N government.
It is pertinent to mention here that former director general Land Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema is also an accused in Ashiana Housing Scheme case.
