Court grants bail to Gillani in corruption case

KARACHI: An anti-corruption court in Karachi on Tuesday granted bail to former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in 12 cases including Trade Development Authority corruption case, ARY News  reported.

Gillani appeared before the federal anti-corruption court in Karachi accompanied by his counsel Farooq H. Naik, provincial information minister Sharjeel Memon, Sharmeela Farooqui and other People’s Party leaders.

A large number of the PPP activists were also present outside the court.

The court granted former premier Gillani bail in the case and he came out of the court premises with a glowing face amid enthusiastic chanting of slogans by the party workers.

Later, talking to media Gillani said that People’s Party respects courts and the court’s decision today will enhance this respect. He said People’s Party leaders have always faced cases against them in courts.
